ANNUAL SCHOOL BOARD ELECTION INFORMATION
2026 Oklahoma City Public Schools (OKCPS)
Board of Education (BOE) Election

November 10, 2025, the OKCPS BOE adopted a resolution (attached) calling the 2026 OKCPS School Board Election.  As outlined in the resolution, the Primary Election will be held Tuesday, February 10, 2026 (if 3 or more candidates file to run) and the General Election will be held Tuesday, April 7, 2026 (if only two candidates file to run, for a position on the ballot for an unexpired term, or if no candidate in the Primary Election receives more than 50% of the votes cast).

The two OKCPS BOE seats in the 2026 school board election are District 5 (currently filled by the Honorable Mike Shelton) and District 7 (currently filled by the Honorable Megan McElhaney).

The period to file at the Oklahoma County Election Board offices to run for these OKCPS BOE seats is December 1 through 3, 2025, details attached.
