School Announcements

  • Mark Twain Elementary School Families,

A new principal has been chosen to lead Mark Twain Elementary School for the 2020-2021 school year, which is scheduled to begin on August 10, 2020.

The current principal, Ms. Sandy Phillips is retiring this summer. She has been a critical piece to the success of Mark Twain for the past 12 years and we thank her for her more than 25 years of dedication to the students of OKCPS. Although we are sad that Ms. Phillips is leaving the Mark Twain family, we wish her happiness in her retirement!

Today, I am pleased to tell you that Mr. John White has been selected as the new principal. Mr. White is a 15 year veteran of Oklahoma City Public Schools, where he has served as a teacher, coach and administrator. After seven years teaching middle school ESL and Social Studies, he has served as assistant principal for the past eight years at Cesar Chavez Elementary, Esperanza Elementary and most recently at Mark Twain Elementary. He believes strongly in the importance of igniting a passion for learning in every child and in engaging families and community members as partners. Mr. White is excited to serve in his new role as principal of Mark Twain and proud to be a part of Team OKCPS!

A community "Meet & Greet" will be planned for Mark Twain Elementary School families before school starts in August. Please stay tuned for details.

    Sincerely,

    Shaun Ross

    Instructional Leadership Director

    Sinceramente,

    Shaun Ross

    Director de Liderazgo Instruccional
