School Announcements

  • Dear Star Spencer Family:

It is with deep sadness that I inform you of the passing of James Harding, Sr., a longtime teacher here at Star Spencer High School.  All of us will have varied reactions to the death of someone close to us. Any reaction is normal in the grief process and can range from disbelief, withdrawal, to crying and anger. I encourage you to openly discuss your reactions and feelings regarding this tragedy with your family and those close to you.

Since we are still on school closure due to COVID19, we will not be able to have supports available to you in-person. However, if you need to speak to someone immediately, please contact the state crisis hotline at 211 or 1-800-522-9054 for help.  These services are available 24/7 and are confidential.

For additional counseling supports, I’m also including a list of some agencies that provide tele-counseling services. Please note that these services are not free and would the family’s responsibility should you choose to access this support.
