Public Health Concern:
Coronavirus (COVID-19)In close consultation with our partners at the Oklahoma State Department of Health, the Oklahoma State Department of Education (OSDE) developed updated guidance regarding the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) for schools across the state to help us ensure the health and safety of students. The measures outlined in the guidance reflect best practices for reducing exposure and the transmission of infectious diseases in community settings, such as schools. Please refer to the links below for the latest guidance and information.
The Oklahoma City Public School District, Board Members, and OSDE will continue to work with our partners at the state, local, and federal levels to keep school leaders and families informed as this situation continues to evolve. We will update and disseminate additional guidance as necessary. Please visit this web page for the latest Coronavirus (COVID-19) updates.

About Health ServicesThe mission of the Health Services Department is to establish and maintain a comprehensive school health program, which provides positive contributions to a student's readiness and ability to learn. In this regard, Student Health Services identifies physical limitations or medical problems that impede a student's learning and addresses them through direct services or referrals to medical and other community resources.
This program provides students with school immunizations, wellness screenings for all students, and referral resources for students identified with potential or existing health issues. The district currently has a nursing staff of 32 registered nurses, 6 licensed practical nurses, and one administrator.
We also provide the following services through our school-based clinics:- Screening: We provide comprehensive health screening in Pre-Kindergarten, Kindergarten, 1st, 3rd, 5th, 7th, and 9th grade for students. These screenings examine various student health variables, including their weight, height, and blood pressure, vision, hearing, and dental health to determine if any problems are present.
- Immunizations: We provide routine childhood immunizations during the school year for children ages 3 to 18 years.
- Diseases: We report and monitor the spread of communicable diseases within our school community.
- Health Education: Health, nutrition, and development education to students.
- First Aid: First aid and emergency care for students and faculty.
