2023 Oklahoma City Public Schools (OKCPS)
Board of Education (BOE) Election
The one OKCPS BOE seat in the 2023 school board election was District 6.
The filing period for candidates was December 5-7, 2022.
Only one candidate filed to run for this seat:
District 5
Juan LeconaSince Mr. Lecona was an unopposed candidate, he automatically won the OKCPS BOE District 6 Seat for a four-year term ending in 2027. In accordance with Oklahoma statutes, following a welcome reception, Mr. Lecona was seated on the Board and started his term of office at the regularly scheduled OKCPS BOE business meeting held April 10, 2023.
The OKCPS BOE and Administration extend heartfelt thanks and appreciation to everyone who volunteers their time and resources to support OKCPS; to the Oklahoma County Election Board, and staff, for their efforts to facilitate the OKCPS school board elections; and to the citizens of the District and countless OKCPS partner organizations whose participation in our school board elections is vital to the success of this District by ensuring our precious students have the best advocates representing them on the school board.
