How do I Join a Committee?
- Must have attended and graduated from Northeast to qualify as alumni.
- Must have been employed at Northeast High School or Northeast Academy between the years of 1937 to 2010 to qualify as an administrator, faculty or staff.
- Must have been a student at the Northeast site within the past three years (2016-present) to qualify as a student.

OVERVIEW of COMMITTEES
Committee #1: Oversee the recommendations for naming the Media Center and NE 32nd Street.
* NE 32nd Street runs north-south connecting 30th St. to 33rd St. through the middle of the campus. This street will be named after a prominent NEHS/NEA alumnus, patron, faculty or staff member, team, or other figure recommended by a representative committee and presented to the Board of Education. A street sign bearing the name will be placed at both entrances to the campus; one on 30th St. and one on 33rd St.
*The media center within Classen SAS High School at Northeast will be named after a prominent NEHS/NEA alumnus, patron, faculty or staff member, team, or other figure recommended by a representative committee and presented to the Board of Education. A plaque with a personal biography will be placed outside the entrance to the media center.
Note: For a person’s name to be considered he or she shall have attained national prominence, been outstanding in school activities, or outstanding in furthering the cause of better schools in OKCPS, or an outstanding citizen of the city and deceased or retired from active participation in community or school affairs. Schools and facilities and portions thereof shall not be named after current employees or sitting school board members.
Committee #2: Select a design and curation process for the Northeast Viking Alumni Room, which will commemorate history with items such as trophies, photos, championship banners, letter jackets, records, and other items that are meaningful for school alumni.
Committee #3: Select a design for the Viking Plaza. The current plaza located on the north side of the school will be landscaped and refurbished. Viking benches that have been donated to Northeast High School/Northeast Academy over the years which are now in safe-keeping at the OKCPS Operations Center will be relocated to the plaza, along with a sculpture and/or another type of monument that honors the NEHS/NEA Viking history.
