OKCPS to Implement OKSDE Provided Rave Panic Button Tool
September 25, 2019
Today, State Superintendent of Public Instruction Joy Hofmeister joined with our state legislators and our law enforcement partners to announce a new safety and security tool for school districts to use across the state of Oklahoma. OKCPS is very grateful for the state's $3 million investment in the RAVE Panic Button technology to improve school safety and security here and across our great state.
The first step toward implementation requires our Security team to load an extraordinary amount of data into the system for our 56 sites and I'm pleased to report that we are in the final stages of this process. Beginning next week, the OKCPS Security team will train staff and implement the tool at our sites one-by-one. As you might imagine, this is a monumental task for a district of our size, but we are on track to have this tool fully operational before we leave for Holiday Break in December.
Please take a moment and read the press release below to learn more about this tool and it's benefits to our district.
As always, the safety and security of our students and staff is a top priority and this new tool is just one more way we can work together to enhance our safety practices on campus.
