OKCPS Hosting Job Fair Thursday, March 2nd
(Oklahoma City, OK) - Oklahoma City Public Schools (OKCPS) is hosting a job fair tomorrow, March 2, from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm. District and school leaders will be conducting interviews for prospective candidates on-site at U.S. Grant High School, located at 5016 S. Pennsylvania Ave. in Oklahoma City. Interested candidates are welcome to apply online if they cannot attend the fair.
The district encourages those interested in joining #teamOKCPS to attend even if they do not have traditional backgrounds in teaching or education. There will be two 30 minute informational sessions about alternate pathways to become a certified educator during the career fair; one at 4:30 pm and one at 5:30 pm.
OKCPS is looking to hire approximately 40 classroom teachers, including early childhood, elementary, secondary and visual and performing arts. There are many benefits that come along with being an OKCPS teacher, including one of the higher starting salaries in the OKC metropolitan area at $42,000/year plus health benefits of up to $7,683.36. In addition, OKCPS also pays for the employee’s portion of Oklahoma Teachers’ Retirement adding an additional 7% to our compensation package for a total minimum of $52,480.80. More information can be found here.
“I believe we have the best teachers in Oklahoma and we are looking forward to adding more talented educators to #TeamOKCPS,” said OKCPS Superintendent Dr. Sean McDaniel. “If you are someone who has a passion for teaching and shaping future generations of leaders, we have a classroom for you at OKCPS.”
