Oklahoma City Public Schools (OKCPS) is excited to announce that the application window for the 2023-2024 school year is open now through February 24, 2023. Application schools are free public middle and high schools with selective admission requirements. Criteria for selection may include a combination of achievement tests, attendance, auditions, grades and/or recommendations. 

Belle Isle Enterprise Middle School, Classen SAS Middle School, Classen SAS High School at Northeast, Southeast Middle School and Southeast High School are seeking applicants who have a talent for fine arts, leadership, STEM, or who have character and have demonstrated academic excellence. Any student currently in 4th - 11th grade can apply to one of our application schools, including students who reside in other districts. However, priority is given to students who live within the OKCPS boundaries. 

''We are thrilled to begin accepting applications for these five challenging and robust schools for the 2023-2024 school year,'' said Dr. Sean McDaniel, OKCPS Superintendent. ''Application schools provide our families and students with diverse educational opportunities other than their assigned neighborhood schools. These schools, with locations both in the heart of Oklahoma City and on the South side, embody cultures of high expectations and rigorous instruction to ensure that graduates are prepared for a full range of postsecondary options.”

Families interested in having their student attend one of these schools for the 2023-2024 school year need to fill out and send an application by February 24, 2023. OKCPS will host a Facebook Live on January 17th, 2023 at 6:00 pm with principals from all five application schools available to answer questions regarding the academic experience at their schools, admission requirements and process to apply. Families should visit www.okcps.org/applicationschools to find additional information about application schools and fill out online forms.
