School Climate, Student Discipline, & Truancy

  • Group Meeting at Desk

  • Welcome to the Office of School Climate and Student Discipline.  Created by the Superintendent in July of 2015 to provide support to students, teachers, and administrators in their efforts to increase the amount of time students spend in school versus out of school suspensions.  The office will lead efforts to continuously improve the Student Code of Conduct, provide schools with training in Positive Behavior Intervention and Support (PBIS), monitor discipline data district-wide, and act as the impartial hearing officers when there is a proposed suspension.  In July of 2018, Truancy was added to this team.

As part of the Student Support Services Division, we are able to work in a collaborative manner with many of our central office and site-based supports, such as social workers and counselors.  Working towards a common goal with wrap-around services will enable the district to serve the whole child.  We look forward to serving the entire Oklahoma City Public Schools Community!
