TECHNOLOGY INTEGRATION & DEVICES
Southern Hills Elementary is a 1:1 device school. All students PreK-4th grade have their own district issued iPad and teachers utilize a variety of classroom technologies for learning. This includes a Newline board, Apple TVs, and various technology platforms to make learning engaging and to help students develop the necessary skills to be future ready.
Oklahoma City Public Schools has adopted the Triple E Framework Model for technology integration in our classrooms. The goal of this framework is to help engage, enhance, and extend learning opportunities for students through the teacher's ability to integrate.
If you have questions regarding devices, we encourage all students and families to visit our OKCPS Device Information page.DIGITAL CITIZENSHIP & COMMON SENSE MEDIA
Southern Hills Elementary is a Common Sense Media Certified school. A student who models digital citizenship has the ability to navigate our digital environments in a way that is safe and responsible. Teachers at Southern Hills provide lessons in their classrooms to start conversations about the importance of being a digital citizen. We believe it is a part of our responsibility to help our Cardinals develop the skills to properly interact online, how to use technology in a way that will prepare them for their futures, and how to be empowered to use technology for their own learning. We encourage our parents and families to join us on this mission! Check out family resources and our OKCPS Innovative Learning department for more ways to get involved.OKCPS has teamed up with Common Sense Media to provide lessons for teachers to use with their students to start conversations about the importance of being a DIGITAL CITIZEN.
