Striving Teachers Effectively Preparing Students (STEPS) is a multi-year literacy initiative designed to systematically improve literacy for K-12 graders at Douglass and the elementary schools that feed Douglass.
Increase trojan reading proficiency by at-least 4% per year based on 8th and 11th grade testing
Measure reading proficiency
Implement middle school and high school literacy intervention courses
Train and coach staff to improve literacy instruction throughout the school
Team with trojan families and the Northeast Oklahoma City community to grow and support our culture of literacy
