    School Named for: Arthur Hugh Parmelee, Educator

    What's In a Name:
    Arthur Hugh Parmelee came to Oklahoma in 1909. He taught at Lee, Wheeler and Shields Heights schools. In 1911, he became principal of Lee School. He was principal of Capitol Hill Junior High when it opened in September of 1921. Eight years later he became principal of Capitol Hill High School. He remained there until his death in 1940.
