11/1/2021 Asynchronous Learning Days
OKCPS Families,
Next Monday, November 8th, OKCPS will have our next Asynchronous Learning Day for all OKCPS students. On Asynchronous Learning Days, our teachers will load assignments and learning activities into Canvas and all students must log-in to learn on their own from home to be counted present for school. This is a school day for students; however, learning takes place at home.
It is crucial that your student log into Canvas on Monday, November 8th to access assigned learning activities and to be counted present for learning at home. This is how attendance will be taken on Asynchronous Learning Days.
Please remind your student to bring their device home this Friday, November 5th so they’ll have it for asynchronous learning on Monday, November 8th. If you have questions or concerns with connectivity or about your child’s devices, please contact your students' school.
Families will need to pick up breakfast and lunch for their student(s) from any OKCPS school site on Asynchronous Learning Days. Curbside meals will be served from 10:30am - 12:30pm and will be available at no cost to any OKCPS student. Families must provide their child or children's names when picking up meals.
As a reminder, in addition to Monday, November 8th, the following dates will also be Asynchronous Learning Days for students wil log into Canvas to complete learning for the day. Asynchronous Learning Days are important instructional learning days. Families can also view the Student Calendar by visiting www.okcps.org/domain/925.

Access to technology for our students has allowed OKCPS to transform the way we teach and do business. Not only can we quickly transition to remote learning in the event of a school closure or inclement weather, but it creates an opportunity for OKCPS to invest in professional development for our teachers in a way that was simply not possible before and allows them extra time to plan lessons, review student assessment data and create more effective and individualized instruction.
If you have questions about Monday, please reach out to your child’s school.
Thank you for your continued support of OKCPS.
