The University of Central Oklahoma, is guided by the mission of The Central Six, helping students learn by providing Transformative Learning experiences so that they may become productive, creative, ethical and engaged citizens and leaders contributing to the intellectual, cultural, economic and social advancement of the communities they serve.
Transformative Learning is a holistic process that places students at the center of their own active and reflective learning experiences. Transformative Learning:
- develops beyond-disciplinary skills and
- expands students’ perspectives of their relationships with self, others, community and environment.
Becoming a STLR student adds a new level of performance, expectation and privlege to graduation outcomes.
Many STLR Field Experiences are available during the afterschool PEAK program. If you have not completed an application, see school counselor Ms. Trager.
Students are expected to participate in the Global School of Service Learning activities and to pursue using the Global Goals adopted by the United Nations to make an impact on their communities and world. Visit the Global Goals to learn more about the 17 goals of the world.
