    Born and reared in Lawton. Oklahoma. Shep graduated from Cameron College (1971) with a BA in Speech & Drama; and again (2013) with a MSBS, Behavioral Science Counseling Degree.

    Shep served in the US Army from 1971 through 1976 attaining the rank of SFC.  For four years, Shep was assigned as a Defense Legislative Liaison, representing the Secretary of the Army, in the Defense Liaison Offices in the United States Senate, Washington, D.C.  After leaving the Army, Shep worked as a legislative staff member to several US Representatives and Senator Lawton Chiles (FL) offices.  When Shep left Washington, D.C., he was serving as a member of the US House of Representatives Office Services Division.

    Shep served as a staff member of the Metropolitan Fair Housing Commission in Oklahoma City, establishing a Legal Defense Fund for Fair Housing Civil Cases and accompanying Oklahoma Lawyers across the United States for training in Fair Housing Law.   Working briefly with the Oklahoma Human Rights Commission Shep conducted a research study that indicated a 50/50 rate of discrimination in the State of Oklahoma.  Based on his report, Oklahoma State Legislature adopted a federally equivalent Fair Housing Law.

    IN 1985, Shep went to NYC for a three day weekend, and returned to Oklahoma 30 years later.

    Active in theater his entire life Shep has worked with established theaters in Oklahoma (Co-Founder of Carpenter Square Theater, OKC), Virginia (Lazy Susan Dinner Theater, The Little Theater of Alexandria), The Folger Shakespeare Theater (Washington, D.C.) and NYC (American Theatre of Actors, Theater for the New City).

    For eight years, Shep produced and directed productions out of his mentor’s theater, The American Theater of Actors, honing his directing skills in Contemporary Theater, Classical Greek Theater and Shakespeare Plays.  Shep has produced, directed and performed four original World Premiere Theater Productions in the Edinburgh (Scotland) Fringe Festival; Co-wrote, Co-Produced, Directed, and performed  in four One-Night Cabaret Benefits (Labors of Love) on Broadway for Broadway Cares/Equity Fights Aids(BC/EFA).

    Shep entered the Theatrical Agency business in 1992 at Oppenheim Christie Associates, a commercial theatrical agency.  He opened and operated his own New York Franchised Theatrical Agency (Sheplin Artists) in 1998 representing new talent and introducing them into the Business of Theater, Television, Film, Commercials and Print in New York City and International Musical Theater Markets

    From 1992 – 1996 Shep served as a Miss and Teen-Miss USA Pageant Judge for New York, New Jersey, South Carolina, and Louisiana

    Shep returned to Oklahoma ten years ago the assist in the care of his mother, who turns 97 this October.
