Dear OKCPS Families,
As we wrap up the first semester of the 2024-25 school year and head into Winter Break, I want to take a moment to express my gratitude. We have accomplished much together in the 173 days since I became your superintendent, but my favorite moments are always spent visiting our schools and seeing firsthand the incredible energy of our educators and the limitless potential of our students. From concerts to classrooms to the board room, these first few months have been more rewarding and inspiring than I could have imagined thanks to all of you—our families, staff, community partners and especially our students.
As the holiday season approaches, many families often ask me for ways to show their appreciation to a child’s teacher, coach or other special member of Team OKCPS. I tell them that the simplest of gestures often mean the most: send them a card, email, or text with a heartfelt “thank you” and share how they’ve positively impacted your child’s life. These small acts of gratitude are more powerful than you can imagine!
Thank you for your unwavering support of OKCPS. I hope each of you will enjoy this much-needed time to rest and recharge, and I look forward to all that we’ll accomplish together in the new year.

Estimadas familias de OKCPS:
Al concluir el primer semestre del año escolar 2024-2025 y comenzar las vacaciones de invierno, quiero tomarme un momento para expresar mi gratitud. Juntos hemos logrado muchas cosas en los 173 días desde que me convertí en su superintendente, pero mis momentos favoritos son visitar nuestras escuelas y ver de primera mano la increíble energía de nuestros maestros y el potencial ilimitado de nuestros estudiantes.
Desde conciertos de clases hasta reuniones de trabajo, estos primeros meses han sido más gratificantes e inspiradores de lo que podría haber imaginado gracias a todos ustedes: nuestras familias, personal, socios comunitarios y especialmente nuestros estudiantes.
Al acercarse la temporada navideña, muchas familias a menudo me preguntan cómo pueden mostrar su agradecimiento a los maestros, entrenadores u otro miembro especial de OKCPS. Les digo que los gestos más simples a menudo significan más: envíeles una tarjeta, un correo electrónico o un mensaje de texto con un sincero "gracias" y comparta cómo han impactado positivamente la vida de su estudiante. ¡Estos pequeños actos de gratitud son más poderosos de lo que pueden imaginar!
Gracias por su apoyo inquebrantable a OKCPS. Espero que cada uno de ustedes disfrute de este tiempo tan necesario para descansar y recargar energías, y espero con ansias todo lo que lograremos juntos en el nuevo año.
