Familes who live outside OKCPS district boundaries

TRANSFERS FOR OUT OF DISTRICT FAMILIES

  • Families may apply for Open Transfer at any time during the current school year.
  • Open Transfer requests are considered on a first come first serve basis as long as space exists in the requested school and grade level. Refer this chart to see spaces available at schools and grade levels.
  •  Each student, including siblings, must have their own transfer application and will be considered separately.
  •  If the school and grade a student requests is over capacity, the student may be placed on a waiting list.
  • Families will be notified in writing of the status of their transfer request within 30 days.  The transfer request will not be considered until the application is complete with all documents submitted.

Transfers may be denied for any of the following reasons:

  • Capacity - Transfers will be denied if the requested school site grade level has exceeded its enrollment capacity. Capacities are posted on the first day of January, April, July and October.
  • Behavior - Student has incidents of student discipline for reason(s) outlined in Oklahoma Statute 70 O.S. § 24-101.3
  • Attendance - The student has a history of absences, which is defined as ten or more unexcused absences in one semester 70 O.S. § 8-101.2 (B)(2)
