August 16, 2024 | Message to Families: First Week of School

Dear OKCPS Families,

What a fabulous first week! As the weekend approaches, I want to say a big thank you for your help, dedication, and communication. We’ve already started building a great year together.

Our vision is for our students to graduate ready to fulfill their unique purpose and to make every child's potential a reality. We can't do this without your help. Whether you’re helping with homework, talking to teachers, or joining in school activities, your support is crucial. It helps create a safe and successful learning environment for every scholar.

Collaboration is at the heart of everything we do. Together, as teachers, parents, caregivers, and community members, we form a strong team that is focused on helping every child succeed. I encourage you to stay in touch with your child’s teachers, share your ideas, and work with us as we go through this school year together.

We are fully committed to your child’s education and well-being. We want to give every student a safe, welcoming, and exciting place to learn. With your help, we can make sure all scholars have what they need to succeed.

Lastly, let’s talk about the importance of  communication. Open and transparent communication between the school and home is vital. We will keep you updated and involved in your child’s education through regular news, meetings, and opportunities to provide feedback. Please feel free to reach out to your child’s teacher or the school if you have any questions or concerns.

As we embark on this school year, remember that it takes a village to raise a child. By working together, we can make this school year one of growth, achievement, and success for every student.

Thank you for your trust and partnership. I’m excited for a year full of great accomplishments and memories.

Take care,

Dr. Jamie C. Polk
