We are excited to announce that Dr. Jamie C. Polk is the next superintendent of Oklahoma City Public Schools. After a thorough selection process, the OKCPS Board of Education chose Dr. Polk for her experience and commitment to our students' success.
Since joining OKCPS as Assistant Superintendent for Elementary Education in 2019, Dr. Polk has used her 33 years of education experience to improve our district. Her focus on innovation, leadership development, and partnerships with teachers and staff has led to real progress. For example, 11 schools are no longer on the "F" list, 12 schools are on track to exit state designation, and we’ve increased the retention of skilled teachers despite teacher shortages in other districts.
As OKCPS continues to strive for excellence, the Board will work with Dr. Polk to ensure our policies meet the diverse needs of our community and prioritize student and family success. With Dr. Polk’s leadership, we are confident in the bright future of Oklahoma City Public Schools.
