OKCPS Board Provides Update on Superintendent Search

This week, the Oklahoma City Public Schools Board of Education, in partnership with the Oklahoma State School Boards Association (OSSBA) took the next steps in the superintendent search process.

At a special meeting on Tuesday evening, the board reviewed 20 applications from individuals interested in becoming our district’s next  superintendent. These include both in-state and out-of-state candidates. On Thursday evening, we began conducting interviews – a process that will continue over the next few weeks.

“The Board is pleased with the high level of interest and quality of candidates interested in leading our school district,” said Board Chair  Paula Lewis. “As we advance through the review process and continue interviews, we are guided by the feedback from our community stakeholders who have generously shared with us what qualities and characteristics they believe are important for the board to consider.”

OKCPS cannot comment on or provide information regarding applicants or candidates being interviewed. OKCPS will continue to keep our staff and community informed regarding the superintendent search process.
