Dr. Sean McDaniel Named Education Innovator

Oklahoma City Public Schools (OKCPS) Superintendent Dr. Sean McDaniel was honored last night as the Education Innovator of the Year by 405 Business Magazine. The ceremony took place at the Petroleum Club in Oklahoma City.

“I am always flattered and appreciative of any recognition I receive, but I am well aware of the fact that I couldn’t do this work without an amazing team behind me,” said Dr. McDaniel. “I am just so pleased about the work being done across the district by lots of people that are committed to OKCPS students. I am proud of our team. We are making a commitment from top to bottom and from side to side.”

Paula Lewis, Board Chair for OKCPS said, “Congratulations on this achievement. Dr. McDaniel’s exceptional leadership and unwavering vision have paved the way for a brighter, stronger district. His dedication to enriching the lives of both students and educators, and finding innovative ways to do so, is unmatched”.

“I would like to offer my congratulations for this very well-deserved accomplishment,” said Mary Mélon-Tully, President and CEO of the OKCPS Foundation. “Together, OKCPS and the Foundation function with a kid-centric mindset. We know that public education is oftentimes a life changer and sometimes a lifesaver, and in order to make that impact, it takes collaboration with community partners and great leaders like Dr. McDaniel.”

Please join us in congratulating and celebrating Dr. McDaniel.
