OKCPS is Offering a Recruitment Bonus for Newly Hired Science, Math and Special Education Teachers

For Immediate Release

June 2, 2021

(Oklahoma City, OK) - OKCPS is excited to announce a one-time recruitment stipend of $1,500 to new teachers accepting employment with the district in Secondary Science, Secondary Math and PK-12 Special Education positions. Current or pending certification in the appropriate subject area is required.

These specialized roles are critical in the daily operations of a school, especially now. As part of 2019’s Pathway to Greatness, the district has a renewed emphasis on STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math) to ensure OKCPS graduates are prepared to succeed in their future fields of expertise. Prospective Special Education teachers still have an opportunity to sign up for the district’s Special Education Boot Camp to receive proper certification.

“We have the best teachers in Oklahoma and we are always looking for talented, dedicated individuals to join our team,” said OKCPS Superintendent Dr. Sean McDaniel. “If you believe that all children deserve access to a world class education, we would love for you to join Team OKCPS.’

Additionally, OKCPS teachers have the highest average salaries in Oklahoma. Interested applicants can apply here.
