We know that you have dedicated countless hours to improving outcomes for our students, and we value every minute you have committed to Oklahoma City Public Schools. When it comes time for retirement, we're here to support you and make the transition as smooth as possible.
How do I Retire?
In order to retire, you must first complete the retirement process through TRS. The retirement process takes FOUR months from initial verification of eligibility to retire to receipt of a retiree's first benefit check so TRS encourages you to start the process at least SIX MONTHS before you retire. However, the process cannot start later than 90 days prior to the proposed retirement date. You can call Oklahoma Teacher Retirement System at (405) 521-2387 or toll-free at 1-877-738-6365.
