Program Calendar

  • The Child Care programs are open Monday through Friday. When the center is closed because of holidays, tuition will be prorated accordingly. The daily hours of operation are 6:30 A.M. to 6:00 P. M. We try to limit the number of days we are closed, in order to meet the needs of our patrons. Please refer to the district calendar; we are closed when the district offices are closed. In the event schools are closed due to inclement weather the child care will be closed as well.

Vacations

  • During the fiscal year, children are permitted two weeks of vacation time from the Child Care programs, in addition to the regularly scheduled holidays. For the purposes of managing our centers we require one week prior notice for any absence to count as vacation time.

Behavior & Guidance

  • Corporal punishment in any form is not allowed in any Oklahoma City Public School, including Child Care programs.

The Child Care Staff of Oklahoma City Public Schools have 3 important goals when using techniques to guide children's behavior.

    1. To insure a safe environment.
    2. To promote children's sense of self.
    3. To teach children self-control.

Our staff works to set good examples and guide children in an age appropriate manner. The Child Care program encourages cooperative behavior in all children. The child care staff consistently reinforces positive social skills that enhances the spirit of learning. We promote parental involvement in all aspects of their children's learning experience.
