Personal Information

I am beginning my ninth year as a teacher at John Marshall.  I teach English and Leadership, sponsor the junior class, and am department chair for the special education department.

English

In English ten students will learn many skills.  We will work diligently on reading, comprehension, and writing skills.  On every Monday students will be required to do homework to reinforce skills learned.  On Friday students will take several assessments to test their knowledge.  We will read four novels during the school year.  We are currently reading the Count of Monte Cristo.

Leadership

In Leadership students are currently learning the many tasks involved in student council such as presenting awards, proper handshakes, how to do a bulletin board, and planning homecoming.  These students will be required to do service projects throughout the year such as the adopt a street program, harvest food drive, and blood drives.  Peer mediation skills will also be a part of the curriculum for this class.
