Introduction to JROTC |
|
|
The Northwest Classen JROTC Program is one in which any student can feel like they are a part of something. There are many different teams and students get rewarded for hard work and dedication. JROTC cadets participate in many school activities and gain a love for their school and honoring their country. The JROTC program was started many years ago by LTC Robert Green, who formerly was at SAI and Oklahoma University. Since JROTC has been at Northwest Classen, this school has been a better, safer place for students to come learn. Since then, there are two other AIs or Army Instructors and they are 1SG Connie Jones and MSG Richard Meza. Nearly every class hour at Northwest Classen there is a JROTC class. There are usually six letter companies, one each hour; they are: Alpha, Bravo, Charlie, Delta, Echo, and Fox-trot. Also, there are two Marksmanship teams, a Color Guard/Honor Guard, Saber Team, Drill Team, Flag Team, and of course, a Cadet Staff. In the next school year however, JROTC plans to create a Rifle Drill Team. If there are any questions, comments or concerns you can contact either LTC Green or another instructor here at NWC_JROTC. There you will also find more updates and pictures. The site is ran by LTC Green.
