The best students at John Marshall are in our class!
7-11 On Sept 16th we enjoyed walking to 7-11 and buying a snack during 7-11’s 50th Anniversary Sale. We got drinks and snacks for half price. It was a little warm but our class enjoyed the outing. Fair Day On October 22nd our class went to the Fair. We had a nice time. We rode the Monorail; which is free now. We saw a Western and Dog Show which had
everyone laughing. We ate our annual
Turkey Leg and then went to watch the Lumber Jack Show. At the Open HouseWe had such a nice time at Open House! The parent’s marked which of 2 choices of food and drink that they would like. The students read the list and got the correct food and drink for their family. Mrs. Linda Swirgzinki, the OKC Public School Transition Person for our district, was our special speaker. Linda gave the parents tips for the student’s future success at their vocational endeavors. She stressed that there is a job out there for each student. That we will look at a student’s strengths, not their weaknesses, when matching them with a potential employer. The parents present seemed to enjoy being able to ask questions and getting answers to those questions. We had a good time of fun, fellowship while gaining knowledge regarding the occupational futures of our JMHS students. Thank you for making this a special night for all of us. Future Plans We are planning on going to the Cowboy Hall of Fame on a Wednesday while they are having free attendance. There is so much to see so it will take a full day to see as much as we can. We will be having a guest come into our classroom and show us how to make a basket. Each student will be able to make a small basket. This will be a new experience for us all. We will take some bus trips to acquaint our students with this form of transportation.
