The Oklahoma City Public School District's Superintendent's Student of the Month Program will recognize and honor OKCPS students who have excelled in academics, leadership, and community service.
Criteria
The OKCPS Superintendent's Student of the Month is a highly selective honor, based on a documented history of student achievement. Students from all grade levels in elementary, middle and high schools will be eligible for nomination.
Each OKPCS building principal or asst. principal will have the opportunity to nominate one student from their school. Those schools who serve both middle and high school students in the same building, will nominate two students (one middle school age and one high school age). Students who meet the criteria listed for their grade level may be nominated for Superintendent's Student of the Month:
Elementary Criteria:

Students must show progress and improvement in subject areas.

Students must show positive attitude towards classmates, school staff, learning and school.

Students must have a good attendance record.

Students must participate in school and or community based extracurricular activities.
Middle School Criteria:

Students must have an average of 80 or higher.

Students must show progress and improvement in subject areas.

Students must demonstrate exemplary leadership skills.

Students must show positive attitude toward classmates, school staff, learning and school.

Students must have a good attendance record.

Students must participate in school and or community based extracurricular school activities.
High School Criteria:

Students must have an average of 85 or higher.

Students must show progress and improvement in subject areas.

Students must make contributions to the community through service and volunteerism.

Students must demonstrate exemplary leadership skills.

Students must show positive attitude toward classmates, school staff, learning and school.

Students must have a good attendance record.

Students must participate in school and or community based extracurricular school activities.
Nomination Process:
- Superintendent's Student of the Month nominations should be submitted to the OKCPS Communications and Community Relations Department by school principal or asst. principal. Each building principal is encouraged to submit one name along with the nomination form on or before the first Friday of each month. INCOMPLETE FORMS WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED.
- A winner will be selected each month from a qualified pool of nominees.
- Applications will only remain active for that month, so if a student is not selected he/she must be nominated again.
- The Superintendent's Student of the Month nomination form must be completed and submitted online. The form can be found at http://www.okcps.org/SuperintendentStudent.htm
Awards & Recognitions:
- A panel of three, third-party, independent judges will select and elementary, middle and high school winner each month.
- The three selected students will receive:
- A FREE lunch with the OKCPS Superintendent, catered by Chartwell's.
- Recognition at an OKCPS board meeting.
- $25 dollars cash courtesy of the Teacher Credit Union.
- Recognition for students and parents at the end of the year board meeting with cake and punch.
- The students' photo and summary of achievement will be featured on the district website. He/She will also be featured on local print media outlets.

*At the last board meeting for the year, Child Nutrition Services will cater cake and punch for students and parents; students who were nominated as Superintendent Student of the Month will be recognized by board members for their hard work and dedication.
