Each year, during the
Oklahoma State Fair, the Oklahoma State Teacher of the Year is named.
This year, Oklahoma City Public Schools' Teacher of the Year, Sandford
Jackson was named as one of the 12 finalist.
At the ceremony, Jackson
and the 2005-2006 Oklahoma State Teacher of the Year and 2005-2006
Oklahoma City Public Schools Teacher of the Year, Robyn Hilger met up
with the 1966-1967 Oklahoma State Teacher of the Year and the 1966-1967
Oklahoma City Public Schools Teacher of the Year, Evelyn Findley
Williams. The three shared experiences and laughter.

Superintendent, Linda Brown attended the ceremony and congratulated
Jackson on representing the district so well and for being an
outstanding educator.
Jackson is a science teacher at Taft
Middle Schools where he has taught the last six years of his 13-year
teaching career.
Jackson preformed well and we are very proud of him. This year, Linda Hasler-Reid of
Muskogee Public Schools was named Oklahoma's 2007/Centennial Teacher of
the Year.
