Each year, during the Oklahoma State Fair, the Oklahoma State Teacher of the Year is named. This year, Oklahoma City Public Schools' Teacher of the Year, Sandford Jackson was named as one of the 12 finalist.

At the ceremony, Jackson and the 2005-2006 Oklahoma State Teacher of the Year and 2005-2006 Oklahoma City Public Schools Teacher of the Year, Robyn Hilger met up with the 1966-1967 Oklahoma State Teacher of the Year and the 1966-1967 Oklahoma City Public Schools Teacher of the Year, Evelyn Findley Williams. The three shared experiences and laughter.

OKCPS Interim Superintendent, Linda Brown attended the ceremony and congratulated Jackson on representing the district so well and for being an outstanding educator.

Jackson preformed well and we are very proud of him. This year, Linda Hasler-Reid of Muskogee Public Schools was named Oklahoma's 2007/Centennial Teacher of the Year.
