Dr. Jan Borelli,
Westwood Elementary principal, was elected to serve on the leadership
council of the Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development (ASCD).
Borelli has also had two articles published by the National Association of
Elementary School Principals (NAESP). Look for her articles, "Twenty Tips for New
Principals" in the January/February edition of the Principal and "How to Get
Meaningful Parent Involvement" in the winter edition of LeadershipCompass.
And if that isn't enough, Borelli recently launched a national podcast for
NAESP, and her podcasts can be heard at www.naesp.org under

Mixing It Up...
The New John
Marshall Pom Squad competed in the Oklahoma State Dance Tournament and
represented the school outstandingly. They danced in two categories - mix
and hip hop. They won the state championship in the mix and received runner up in the
hip hop. The Pom Squad coach, Sherri Smith, also deserves a hand for her
hard work in preparing the girls for the competition.
