New OKCPS Superintendent Appears in National Education Magazine
Oklahoma City – Oklahoma City Public Schools new Superintendent, Dr. John Q. Porter, is featured on the cover of the new issue of “Digital Directions” – a publication by Education Week, a nationally recognized education magazine. The article features a Q & A with the new Superintendent about his role as a leader in educational technology, as well as his future with Oklahoma City Public Schools.
"It is an honor to be included in such a respected publication that highlights the nation’s best practices in education. I look forward to working with the dedicated professionals with Oklahoma City Public Schools and building on systems that put student achievement first", said Dr. Porter.
Dr. Porter is an accomplished national leader recognized for his breakthrough initiatives in the use of technology to transform student learning, improve academic performance and increase accountability. He was selected in April as the new superintendent of Oklahoma City Public Schools. Porter will assume his duties as the new superintendent of the Oklahoma City Public Schools on July 1.
