STUDENTS SPEND SPRING BREAK AT SCHOOL

OKLAHOMA CITY – It may be spring break, but some OKCPS students are still in school.  Beginning Monday March 13, more than one hundred elementary students from throughout the district start Spring Break School at Coolidge Elementary at 5212 S. Villa.

Reading and writing will be the main focus, but many other special events are planned. They include a visit from the zoo, flying kites and a visit from the Oklahoma County Jail Gang Task Force.

“We want to give students an option to staying home and watching TV or playing video games all day,” says Doctor Sue Greenfield, Principal of Coolidge Elementary. “The students will have a week of structured, yet fun filled days.”

Each day the school will also provide breakfast, lunch and an afternoon snack. Spring Break School starts each day at 8:30 am and ends at 3:00 pm.

Here is a schedule of special events media is encouraged to attend:

Monday 8:30-9:30 Kite Presentation

               2:00-3:00 Fly Kite
