Concert to Help Send SEHS Students to China
Oklahoma City
– As the only school in the Oklahoma City Public Schools
District to offer a China Exchange Program, Southeast High
School at 5401 S. Shields is once again holding a concert to
raise money to help send students to the far-east.
This
is the third year of the program which hosts students from China
and sends local students to China to study the culture and
economics of the emerging world trade leader.
“This
is the education of a lifetime.” says Mrs. Mary Pipps Cloos,
Chairperson of SEHS’s Career and Technical Education Program.
“When we are talking about tomorrow’s leaders, they should be
well informed and see firsthand how the world-market works.”
In
order for SEHS students to participate in the program, they must
raise their own funds. The school is holding a “donation only”
concert Sunday, November 20, to help raise the necessary funds
for the trip. The concert takes place from 2:00 to 4:00 pm. at
the Wilmont Baptist Church at 6440 South Santa Fe. Featured
performers include recording artist and songwriter Darla Morgan
along with Todd Killingsworth and Billy and the Boys. Media is
encouraged to promote and attend the event.
