Jefferson Middle School Parents Learn Internet Awareness from FBI

OKLAHOMA CITY – Parents of Jefferson Middle School students will have a special speaker from the FBI the evening of Thursday, September 7 at 6:30 p.m. at the school located at 6800 S. Blackwelder. Special Agent Kurt Stoner will present “Innocent Images” a safety lesson on Internet awareness tailored to parents with school-age children.

“We are very pleased to have Agent Stoner present this Internet awareness program to our parents. This is a very appropriate time of year to remind parents of the importance of teaching their children precautions when using the Internet because many of our parents buy their students new computers at the beginning of the school year,” said Principal Gloria Torres.

Torres also added that the parent meeting will also provide information on how to monitor their children’s Internet use to be sure they are taking safety precautions and not visiting Internet sites that leave the vulnerable to predators.
