Holidays Brighter for Two “Adopted” Oklahoma
City Schools
Oklahoma City
– In the spirit of the Christmas season, students at Arthur
Elementary at 5100 S Independence and students at Linwood
Elementary at 3416 NW 17 will receive gifts from two local
businesses that chose to adopt the schools this year.
The
McLaughlin Trust is giving 450 students at Arthur Elementary a
Christmas party at 1:30 on Friday, December 16 complete with
food and a magician.
“Santa Claus will also be there and will hand out gifts to the
students. He will also be giving mittens and hats to the
children that need them,” said Barbara Hess, principal at
Arthur. “90 percent of our students receive reduced lunches…
this donation from the McLaughlin Trust ensures all of these
kids will get a real Christmas party and a present.”
Mercy
Health is ensuring the same for students at Linwood Elementary
at 2:20 on Friday, December 16. Every department at Mercy
adopted one class.
“The
emergency room adopted a first grade class, the communications
department adopted a fifth grade class and so on,” said Linwood
Principal Kathy Draper. “Each student will receive a sweatshirt,
a book, a school supply and a toy. We appreciate all Mercy does
for our school.”
Media
