Dads Group Gets Involved at Local Elementary
Oklahoma City – Urging
dads to get involved with their child’s school activities,
parents at Eugene Field Elementary at 1515 N Klein started WATCH
D.O.G.S. (Dads Of Great Students), a national program designed
for fathers to be able to volunteer, serve as positive role
models and help increase a sense of security in schools. The
program was created in response to the school shooting in
Jonesboro, Arkansas in 1998.
“Fathers can spend meaningful time with their
children in the school setting and gain a greater awareness of
the positive impact they can have on their child’s life, just by
being an involved dad,” program coordinators say.
So far, 80 dads have volunteered for the program
at Eugene Field Elementary. WATCH D.O.G.S will be holding Dads
and Kids Pizza Night tonight, Tuesday October 4 at Eugene Field
from 5:00 to 6:00. Program coordinators and dads will be
available for media interviews.
For more information on the WATCH D.O.G.S.
program, you can call 1-888-540-DOGS, or log on to
