The Home Depot Volunteers Build a New Playground

Oklahoma City – The Home Depot becomes The School Depot as 40 workers from Oklahoma City area stores build a new playground facility at Southern Hills Elementary School at 7800 S. Kentucky Ave. The workers will begin at 9:00 a.m. Friday, September 9 building a swing set with slide, rock wall, and a jungle gym. They will also build benches with shelters and repair the school’s worn-down basketball court.

“This is huge for us, our playground equipment has been in disrepair for years,” says Alice Loftin, Principal at Southern Hills.

Some Southern Hills students will be helping spread mulch and carry tools. The school will also provide water and lunch for the workers.

Media is invited to the building project. Students will be available for interviews in the afternoon.
