Elementary Schools Celebrate Open Houses
Oklahoma City --
Elementary Schools in the Oklahoma City School District are
holding annual open house celebrations Tuesday, September 20,
2005. The open houses are a chance for parents to see their
child’s school and get an update on student activities.
“We also take this opportunity to inform parents
about education opportunities for them,” says Linwood Elementary
Principal Kathy Draper. “This is also our annual PTA sign-up and
we have prizes for parents who join.”
This year Linwood has also teamed up with Cox
Communications to offer Lifeline phone service to families who
qualify for the program. Linwood Elementary at 3416 NW 17th
will open its doors from 6:30 to 8:00 Tuesday, September 20. The
school will have informational booths and will also offer a
raffle with prizes donated by Mercy Hospital. Media is invited
to attend the event. Media members wishing to visit a different
school than Linwood Elementary need to contact Cordell Jordan at
