OKCPS Libraries Go High-Tech
Oklahoma City –
Oklahoma City Public School District officials today announced
the launching of a new web-based card catalogue for the
district’s school libraries. The new system can be accessed by
any computer with an Internet connection.
“The Destiny Library System also features other
on-line resources including connecting users to the Metropolitan
Library System and local universities,” Says Kathleen Lienke,
Library Media Director. “The entire collection is available not
only to students and teachers, but also parents and anyone else
needing access to district libraries.”
The Destiny system allows easier sharing of
materials including inter-library loan and research articles.
Today, 76 OKCPS schools are on the system with others set to go
on-line with MAPS for Kids renovations.
Students at Sequoyah Elementary at 2400 NW 36th
Street will be demonstrating the new system at 10:00 a.m. on
Wednesday, September 28. Parents and teachers will also be
on-hand for media interviews. For more information and to view
the system, log on to
