COURSES OFFERED: 6th Grade Vocal Music - This course offers an introduction to vocal performance as well as knowledge of styles, composers, theory, and general musicianship. Advanced Vocal Music - This 7th and 8th grade course goes beyond the fundamental skills of choral singing and focuses on the aesthetic sensitivity and expression in music. Eighth Grade Honor Choir- This is for 8th graders only by audition only. This choir participates in OSSAA contest, and other outside engagements. "Show Choir" - This is a special group that is for 8th grade only. This is a speciality group. The chosen participants are selected for certain engagements at Belle Isle as well as outside engagements. Rehearsals are held before school and as needed after-school. "Boys and Girls Ensemble" - These two special groups are for special performances as well with the emphasis placed on boys and girls "select" groups. These are also geared toward 8th graders only. Rehearsals are held before school and as needed after-school. PERFORMANCE INFORMATION: Two programs are required. (1) Winter Concert and (1) Spring Concert. Other outside performances eighth grade Honor Choir only, include: Performance at Penn Square Mall during the Holiday Season, OSSAA contest, Arts Festival, and any other activities where we are asked to sing.
