Addressing the BIEMS, Inc. board
-
Residents, employees, parents or any official representative of a
recognized group of the community may address the Board.

Delegations who wish to address the Board will select a representative
spokesperson.

A
sign-up sheet for agenda related and non-related items is required to be
signed by all speakers addressing the board by the close of business
Friday immediately preceding the regularly scheduled monthly meeting held
on the first Thursday of every month.

First
person to register is the first person to speak; second person to register
second to speak and so on.
-
Your
type written prepared comments will be requested by the school office at
the time of sign-up and are required to help in any follow-up activities.

Allocation of three minutes is given to each speaker. However, another
registered speaker may yield his/her three minutes to another speaker for
a maximum of six minutes total per speaker.

Comments
from the public will be heard only during the designated Citizen’s
Comments
section of the agenda.

The
first Citizen’s Comments hearing period is for a maximum of 30 minutes and
will be used to address concerns regarding matters that are on the Board’s
agenda for that meeting.
-
An
additional Citizen’s Comments agenda section will be allotted, at the end
of each meeting for a maximum of 30 minutes, in order to address
non-agenda items.
-
During
Special Board Meetings comments from the public must pertain to items in
the agenda.

Emergency Board Meetings will not include comments from the public.
-
Spontaneous discussions from the floor are discouraged.
-
A person
is encouraged to write the Board or Principal with general questions,
concerns, suggestions or to obtain information about the school, 5904 N.

A
speaker addressing the board may not speak on the following:
-
collective bargaining
issues,
-
an issue in a pending
lawsuit when the Board, School District or employees are involved,
-
a pending grievance,
-
an employee complaint
filed with the School District or/and outside agency,
-
a complaint against
individual employees,
-
an employee disciplinary
action, suspension or termination, and
-
a pupil suspension or
appeal which may ultimately reach the Board for final decision.
