Frequently Asked Admissions
Questions:
Admissions
policies are set forth in the admission packet which is available from
the school. Part of the requirements are based on fourth grade CRT
scores for incoming sixth grade students. Other requirements are
based on grades. We do not require the students to participate in
essays or interviews. We encourage you to review the policy and
discuss with your child’s teachers and principal whether this middle
school placement is appropriate.
Our admissions policy endeavors to reach an equilibrium among three goals:
to serve elementary school communities closest to the school site, provide
a unique middle school program within the District, and reward individual
merit.
We chose, purposely, to avoid an interview, essay, or lottery as part of
the admissions plan in order to reward children whose grades reflect a
commitment to education. While we have a priority system in place
based on geography, no one should perceive that as a reason not to apply.
Our 2003 enrollment reflected students from over 40 different elementary
schools as well as parochial and home-schooled backgrounds.
