drill team does many special events to represent the program and to represent
Northwest Classen. They practice at least three times a week and even practice
after school a few times a month. They even do a district competition called
Sooner Stakes and they normally take first place.

the students gain a strong sense of responsibility and they learn to
work as a team. If you are on the drill team you get a red chord to wear
on your shoulder with your uniform. The drill team also wears blue
berets and scarves as well as matching gloves. Unlike Color Guard,
however; they do not do as many performances or events and they normally
wear Class B uniform rather than the Class A uniform (with the jacket).

Drill Team participates in drill
meets, parades, flag ceremonies and school assemblies throughout the
year. They also assist the battalion Sergeant Major throughout the year
for special events and programs. It is a special honor to be on the
drill team and the cadets always perform with pride and to their best
ability. There is one thing for sure, and that is that the drill team is
an important aspect of JROTC.
