I've lived in Chicago, Boston, Sioux Falls and Champaign
Urbana, now Oklahoma. Favorite reading is Dancing WuLi Masters, Parallel Worlds, Cosmos, the Astronomy magazine, Monitor
newspaper. Liked the surrealist The Forgetting Room, serious sci-fi like Xenophobia, and art books like
LaLique. Collect all manner of films. Music I would name Moody Blues, Vangelis, Celtic,
Enya, Cosco, Depeche Mode, Erasure, Xymox, Beatles...and Liszt.
I am 5'4" green eyed Czech rose. Raised liberal baptist, to methodist, then transcendentalist and beyond.
Teach H.S. Honors Chem, AP Environ Science, and coach
Academic Team.
Decathlon competition
covers art, music, social studies, science, essay, speech, literature. So I get
to delve into extensive new territories in my teaching. Plus cover a lot of psychology, but I enjoy teenagers :-)
My daughter Heather recently graduated in Business Admin, computer software focus.
My son Edward just graduated from OSU. Edward has competed nationally as a black
belt and will be attending graduate school in engineering at USC.
I like to cook European and Asian, or over a wood fire while primitive camping. Love to canoe, enjoy tennis and
cardio kick-boxing. Been sailing several times, most recently Dante Point near LA.
In 1999 I accompanied JM 18 year olds to Germany. After a week in Berlin, we stayed with families in Bad Urach
(Swabian country)for a month. I loved the architecture, statuary. I've traveled
all over North America, except Wash and Alaska. This summer I again spoke at the National Mensa Gathering in Phoenix,
then flew to Michigan for an Exploring Consciousness in Society Colloquium. I drove up to an Advanced Placement Biology Workshop at Taft in CT.
The family I stayed with in Germany came to visit and we
had a great camping adventure out West. First was horseback riding in Garden of
the Gods, Col Springs, then on to Arches National Park in UT, down Canyonlands
to the Grand Canyon, and finally to the O'Keefe Art Museum in Santa Fe. Also been to
the South Pacific, from Tahiti to Australia. I like both high and low end travel. Love the vistas of wilderness here in northern
Oklahoma, Utah, New Mexico. Like cougars and Anasazi ruins, fossils too. I want to go canoeing in
the Canadian or other wilderness. I find the interplay of natural textures, sights and sounds sensuous.
When my son needed his first wheels, I desperately learned to rewire a 125cc Yamaha. Not good at hand tools, but like to putter occasionally in garage.
I've done some home repair; some good, some not. Like to be surrounded by art, not crafts. Like to do occasional clay sculpture, photography, etc.
Want to try glass art 3-D sandblast. Enjoy gardens of perennials and herbs, done mostly western riding, like a good film at home, and read and read in
the quiet.
