Visual and Performing Arts Program

The Visual and Performing Arts Program offered at Classen School of Advanced Studies provides artistically talented young people with a rigorous conservatory-style training in the visual arts; dance and the dramatic arts; and vocal and instrumental music including strings, guitar and piano. Also available is a comprehensive academic, college preparatory program.

All Classen School of Advanced Studies Visual and Performing Arts students complete a double program consisting of a major (two and three dimension Visual Arts, Vocal Music, Instrumental Music, Strings, Guitar, Dramatic Arts/Technical Theater, Piano, Dance, Photography/Videography), along with an academic program. Drama and Dance students, at the high school level, spend up to one-half day in their respective areas of study while Art and Music students spend one-third to one-half of their programmed day in their respective areas of study.

In addition, students participate in performance for the school and for the Oklahoma public through art exhibitions, drama productions, strings and vocal concerts, and dance programs. Although demanding in nature and complete in content, the conservatory-style Visual and Performing Arts Program steeps the students in the literature and culture of the arts, resulting in uniquely accomplished and educated students, well prepared for the professional and university worlds
