Notice re: OU Big Event at CSAS on Saturday - Volunteers Still Needed to
Help OU Volunteers Help Us on & before the 14th… CSAS to get rid of junk
with the Aid of Neighbors’ Big Trash Day (more volunteers, please.)
Thanks to all who have already responded to the
announcement of the forthcoming OU Big Event @ CSAS on April 14th
– Saturday.
What is the Big Event? See 4/2/07 Classen
News. In addition to painting 6 classrooms (Ms. Kingsolver’s room looks
like it’ll get enough parent volunteers that we’ll be able to add Mr. Brian
Horn’s room, A104, for the OU volunteers to paint), the OU volunteers will
also do some landscaping.
CSAS neighbors, the Neighbors family, have generously agreed to
receive the junked refrigerator and any other big trash that will fit
between the sidewalk and their driveway, for neighborhood Big Trash Day on
Monday the 16th. Volunteers needed to help haul the fridge and
junk around the corner to their yard. Extra pickup truck means more junk can
be hauled for disposal. What time? Depends when volunteers can come.
(Sooners arrive at about 10:30 a.m. – all must be quiet for ACT until noon
or 12:30)
The Big Event will be staged through the back
entrance at C-Hall, north of the Gym. Get location of assignments in
cafeteria on Sat.
Other Volunteer needs:
Thursday: scrape & fill holes in Harding, T.
Brown, Kingsolver after school til 5:30. Call 843-1122 or email bdew@repairman.com.
Friday: teachers & student helpers will move
the furniture and stuff away from the walls. After school on Friday the
13th, as long as we can stand it, volunteers are needed to prep walls & trim
and cover the white boards, blackboards and bulletin boards and cupboards
attached to the walls with newspaper to prevent roller splatters. Wall prep
continues with scraping, tape & glue removal, scraping, hole-patching,
scraping, dirt-offwashing, and scraping, scraping, scraping & sweeping
scraping leavings. Bring scrapers if you’ve got ‘em. Pleeeze. Place
ladders (and scaffolding.) Call or email.
Saturday: No noise before 12:30 due to ACT.
Thus ladders need to have already placed on Friday. Volunteer check in and
assignments in cafeteria no earlier than 8 a.m. Volunteers please bring own
brushes/rollers. Paint is being donated. Sooners arrive at about 10:30
a.m. through CHall exterior entry. Kingsolver cannot be painted til 12:30
p.m. Please call or email ASAP to RSVP
Kids who will scrape & tape are welcome on
Thursday and Friday. Adults? Absolutely. Many on Friday, some on
Thursday, too. On Saturday, kids middle school age or younger must be
accompanied by a responsible adult. Saturday painters and junk-haulers
needed.
Bring own brushes and rollers.
Please email
bdew@repairman.com
if you are interested in helping our kids’ school for OU Big Event. Or call
Barbara Rupert @843-1122. ASAP. Thank you!
