SPRING BREAK IS MARCH 19-23 - HAVE FUN, BE SAFE
 
THANKS TO EVERYONE who supported this year's auction with their time, donations, attendance and dollars!  The committee worked very hard and a fine time was had by all.  Attendance was down this year which is a shame considering all the hard work that goes into an event like this.  If you were unable to participate, please consider sending a cash donation to help the PTSA fund all the Curriculum Enhancement Grants that will be submitted by Classen's teachers.
 
ST. BALDRICKS - Fundraiser for pediatric oncology research, Sunday, March 25, 1:00-4:00 at Chesapeake Park (On North Western just south of 63rd Street).  If a group of students from Classen wants to take on a challenge to raise at least $2000.00 for St. Baldricks they will recieve an all expense paid party complere with band, food and non-alcohlic beverages at VZD'S for  a maximum of 100 people. Other schools are being challenged  also so if more than one school raises $2000, then the school that exceeds the goal by the most dollars will win the party. 
 
Classen School of Advanced Studies will host an ACT preparation workshop Wednesday, April 4, 2007, from 2:30-6:00 in the Media Center .  Presenter is Chad Cargill, who, during his tenure of taking the test, raised his score from a 19 to a 32.  Cost is $25.00, payable to Classen School of Advanced Studies in the financial office.  Chad’s prep books will be available for $20.00.
 
CLASSEN PARENTS:
As some of you know, Coach Thompson was working on creating a weight room for the athletes at Classen before his tragic accident.  Josh Morgan, who is our new PE teacher is wanting to continue working toward that goal.  If you have any free weights or other training equipment that you would like to donate or buy (about $15 a piece at Academy) please call Bea Scofield at 528-4963.  These donations are tax deductible.  These weights will be used under the supervision of our PE teacher and will most helpful to our athletes
 
Classen Boys High School Baseball:
The Classen Boys High School Baseball team will be playing Douglass High School at Douglass on Monday, March 12 at 4pm,  Star Spencer at Star Spencer on Thursday, March 15 at 4pm and Friday, March 16 at Dolese Park field #2 (our home field) at 4pm.  Come and support your baseball team.
 
Classen Boys and Girls High School Soccer:
The Classen Boys  and Girls High School soccer teams will be playing Tuesday, March 13th Midwest City at Midwest City High School beginning at 6pm.  Come and support your soccer teams.  Both teams won their opening games on Friday.    Go Classen!
 
Soccer Fund Raiser:
The girls Soccer team is selling the Oklahoma City and Surrounding Areas coupon books which include coupons from local restaurants, grocery stores, golf courses and other services.  The books are $15 a piece and will go to help the girls raise money for warm-ups for the girls soccer team.  If you are interested in helping us, please contact one of your girls soccer players or call Lisa Slater at 524-0404.  Thank you for your support.
