Dear Parents:

Classen will host Freedom Calls, a promotional program sponsored by The Center for Drug Abuse Prevention.  The program will be in February.  Just prior to this presentation, all students will be asked to complete a survey asking questions related to drugs and drinking.

The survey is anonymous (no name) only grade and gender.  If you would like to see the questions or object to the survey, please contact Mr. Glen Gean at 962-0204 or you can email him at gagean@okcps.org.

Thank you.

Sincerely,

Dr. Ronald M. Maxfield

Dear Classen Family,

In this time of heightened awareness of tragic events and the need for vigilant supervision of all student programs, Classen will be assisted by the security company, Interequest at the Winter Ball this Saturday.  Interquest provides Security Teams which include canine support normally for security sweeps at schools during school hours.  We have requested assistance in the form of a “presence” of additional security for the Winter Ball as an additional deterrent of situations that would detract from the enjoyment of all at our dance.  This will provide no interference with our students and our policies align with the protocol we will observe.  Students will not be allowed to leave the dance and re-enter.  This has been our policy for some years now and since we are in Bricktown that is a reasonable expectation.  Our goal is always to provide a safe environment and these measures will help us achieve our goal.   Dr. Ron Maxfield

Dear 8th grade parents:

Bridging is on the calendar for Friday, May 18th at 6:30pm.  I would like to meet with parents interested in serving on the planning committee.  I understand that many of you work, so I’m trying to find the best time to meet.  I am available on Monday, February 5th or Wednesday, February 7th during lunch/planning period any time between 12:05-2:10, or we could meet immediately after school on Wednesday, February 7th.  If you’re interested in helping, please e-mail me at jeerobinson@okcps.org with your vote on a meeting time.  If you’re not able to make a meeting, hopefully we can arrange things via e-mail.  I look forward to working with you.
