Ms. Madron’s Wish List

Londa Madron is energizing the speech and debate program at Classen SAS.  To replenish and vitalize the program, she has expressed a need for materials, including the following:

1. Script library: Each script costs $4-10.  The library currently consists of 15 scripts.  A quality program needs hundreds of scripts.  More scripts offer more varied opportunities to more students.  With middle school students participating in the program, she needs a greater variety to make age and skill appropriate selections available.  She has set a goal of adding one hundred scripts each year.  If you want to contribute to the script library, please send Ms. Madron a check made payable to Classen SAS and note speech script library on the check.  If each student can contribute money to purchase at least one script ($4-10), it will be an enormous help.

2. Laser printer toner cartridges: Ms. Madron’s printer serves as a copier as well as printer.  She needs printer cartridges for a Brother DCP 7020.  Please deliver cartridges to her room A-110.

3.  Podium.  To help students become comfortable with speaking from a stand, Ms. Madron needs a podium.  It doesn’t have to be new or fancy.  Please deliver it to the classroom, A-110.

4.  Printable transparencies.  She uses an overhead projector during lectures to help students identify key information for their notes.  She needs printable transparencies to use with the overhead projector.  Please deliver the transparencies to the classroom A-110.

5.  Plastic sleeves/sheet protectors.  In order to avoid smearing the transparencies, Ms. Madron needs plastic sleeves or sheet protectors to store the transparencies.  They should have 3holes punched on the side so they can be kept in a 3-ring binder. Please deliver the transparencies to the classroom A-110.

For items 2-5, if you prefer, a check payable to Classen SAS will allow Ms. Madron to purchase these materials.

Volunteer judges.  Later, when the speech and debate tournaments begin, Ms. Madron will need volunteers to serve as judges.  She will conduct a short training session for those without prior experience.  The tournaments are scheduled for Oct 3-4 (Edmond North); Nov 14-15 (Choctaw); Nov 21-22 (PC North); Feb 6-7 (Norman); Feb 27-28 (Norman North).
